Thom Signature Reviews: Blk 311 Clementi Ave 4

Project Description

This Block 331 Clementi Ave 4 was a DBSS 3 room resale flat. The clients are a newlywed couple in their first home. They wanted a warm and cozy feel to the whole home especially when they return home and for it to have a condominium feel and elegance.

Design approach

Thom Signature Reviews: For the Blk 331 Clementi Ave 4 project, the couple wanted a luxury feel to the bedroom and the living area to have a warm and inviting feel to it. The husband loves to cook and spends a lot of time in the kitchen, hence his preferred darker feel was implemented in the kitchen as well. This is in contrast to the wife who prefers lighter tones, hence the living area, common area and common area toilets were developed with the lighter tones in mind. The entire kitchen and 2 toilets were completely revamped.

Living Room: The common area toilet doorway entry was changed as the owners did not like the previous design, and they chose to go with a ghost track door – a full height mirror that’s also the door. In the living area, there was originally a wall between living and master bedroom. That wall was hacked down so that there can be an even larger open space when friends come over as the couple like to have friends over. A 3 panel sliding door divider door was built in that opens and closes up between the two rooms. They also wanted a feature wall that flushed through all the way to the bomb shelter area to camouflage the household shelter and the other room which is like a walk-in wardrobe and work from home area.

Kitchen area: Revamped the entire kitchen carpentry while the walls were given a clean look with plaster. The cabinets were built with darker tones. The counter tops were designed with matt finish look using a sintered stone top. The kitchen entry has a beautiful shoe cabinet for the daily wear.

Master Bedroom: The master bedroom was designed with the idea that it is for sleeping and relaxing. As they can open up divider to watch tv from bedroom, they did not need to have an additional tv placed in the master bedroom. Master toilet and common toilet both have fully concealed shower niches and shower tap to really provide the condominium feel. However the master bathroom has a built-in rain shower that gives the hotel luxury feel to it. Overall the theme is a warm yet very minimalistic and modern luxe feel.
